Ramona Badescu
|
Born in 1980 in southern Romania, Ramona Badescu arrived in southern France, where she still lives today, in 1990. In 2002, she was an actress. That same year she met Benjamin Chaud, with who she started to create children's books, writing the stories which he illustrated. They published a book together -- POMELO, then two, then ten. As for today, she has published twenty books, always with Benjamin, but also with Aurore Callias, Olivier Balez, Chiaka Miyamoto, and Delphine Durand. Ramona's books have been published in 10 languages -- French, Japanese, Spanish, Swedish, Italian, German, Korean, Chinese, English, Norwegian, and Greek. Ramona doesn't know most of these languages. Her books are better traveled than she. Sometimes, she says, she lacks courage. But here at Enchanted Lion, we don't think so. Her books are daring, adventurous, smart and funny, which speaks volumes about who she must be inside. |
